The New Year

Well it's 2011!! A new year and a new start.
I am ENGAGED!! to my amazing man Seth!!
I joined a gym to get my butt in shape and to get healthy!!
I'm going to try and keep this thing updated more!!

So for those who want to know the story of how we got engaged...here goes.
Seth and I traveled to Dallas to watch Texas Tech play their bowl game. For those of you who don't know Seth and I are season ticket holders to Texas Tech Football...we LOVE it and it's what we do!! This is why we will not have a fall wedding->it's during football season and we watch football!! So back to the story we left Midland for Dallas on Thursday afternoon, we found out the Spurs were playing the Mavs that Thursday night and decided to go to that game as an added bonus!! We stayed at the Hilton Anatole (where the team stayed and got to see a lot of the Tech team!! an added bonus for me - Love those guys). We decided to either take a cab or town car to the game and ended up getting to take a limo there and back for cheap!!!
The Spurs won!! So Seth and I were both excited not to mention we had good seats and it was a fun game to watch. When we got back to the hotel we went up to the room to go potty drop stuff off etc. In the mean time this is where Seth subtly slipped that beautiful ring into his pocket (he couldn't make the box fit plus that would have been way obvious). We decided to go walk around the hotel. We had been there 2 years ago when Tech played in the Cotton Bowl but they had changed so many things. We went to one of the bars and grabbed a drink then Seth kept urging me that we should go walk around some more. We went out into the grassy area...the hotel surrounds this area where there is a walking track, little pond, swimming pool, etc. We walked to the back were the pond and fountain was and we found a bench next to it and sat down. (He had asked me to hold his beer for a moment->this is when he reached in his pocket for the ring, I was completely oblivious to this) Seth asked if I loved him and I said ya that I did and then decided to ask him the same thing. He said 'Ya I guess' (sidenote: Seth and I have a silly sense of humor we're playful with each other so this was actually really sweet) and the next thing I knew he was down on his knees in front of me holding the ring and asking me to marry him!!! My first response was 'No freaking way!! You're kidding me' and then I just hugged him, he had to prompt me to say Yes because I forgot I should respond!! So I said 'Yes Of course!!' He put the ring on my finger and we kissed and cried and laughed!!!

A few side funny stories.
We went to Christmas at my grandparents on Sunday the 26th. My brother's suburban had a battery lapse when they were trying to leave so I said I would jump start them. I pulled the pickup around and got my jumper cables from my toolbox...no big deal right. Well unbeknown to me my ring was under the jumper cables. I went back in the house and told Seth that we had to jumpstart Adam's car and he just knew I had seen it. Apparently he had this freaked out look when he asked me where the jumper cables were. I said the toolbox..and was like duh! where else would they be?! I never saw it!!

Seth proposed at around 11:55 on 12/30/10...He wanted to propose on New Years Eve but I had made some comments about how I think it's cheesy when guys propose on holidays (no offense to anyone who was proposed to on a holiday) If he would have done it on New Years Eve I would have loved it no matter what!! So anyway because I had said that I thought it was cheesy he decided to just go ahead and do it the night before!! Super Sweet and totally unexpected...I didn't think he would propose until around March or April....Love him!!

I've moved to Midland, TX!! I now am working for a company out of Midland named Legacy Reserves, which I love!! No more traveling at least an hour everyday...just to downtown Midland, which has been a very nice change. Seth and I moved into our apartment at the beginning of August and are still somewhat trying to get everything situated. Seth is still staying with his mom in Lubbock and working (he'll officially move to Midland on 8/22/10!!) until Midland College starts. He's going to be going back to get his welding degree!! So if you are ever in the area please come visit us we would love to see you!!!

Ok so another long overdue post....things seem to be crazy but slow all at the same time. Here's a quick little update for now so it's not overload. I'm still doing the landman thing and spend the week usually with Mom and Dad and working either in Big Lake or Rankin...pretty much out in the middle of BFE :) I usually head to the Lubbock area on the weekends to see Seth!! We're currently planning a move to Midland when our lease is up in July in Lubbock on our apartment. I wanted to buy a house but we'll see how that goes (currently have some issues - no not bad credit...I actually have great credit), Seth is planning on going back to school which I think is awesome for him. I'm excited for him that he found something that he's really interested in and wants to pursue!!! Anyway that's the basics for now....hopefully I'll get some pictures added to my computer so I can upload them to this and give some visuals of our journey so far :) until then......

Ok so I said I would post soon so here it is...
My last big post was in October and so much has happend...Texas Tech football came and went and we were sad to see it go, and had tons of fun going to the games and tailgaiting. We're actually starting to get the hang of it!! and the parents came for quite a few games which was a whole lot of fun!! Especially since I'm pretty sure they only came to 1 game the entire time I was in college!!! We are really sad to see Coach Leach leave...he was a hell of a coach and will be missed...aarrrggghhhh; but we are super excited about Coach Tubberville and what he's going to bring this coming season!!!
Opening Day for Deer Season and Seth and I were so excited to get to shoot our first of many deer!! We went and sat in the blind, which I'm not good at sitting still, especially when it's cold, but we saw and buck and Seth shot it!!!!! We had to do a little tracking, which was my favorite part, but we found him and he made great steaks and jerky!!! Then around Thanksgiving I got my chance to shoot at a deer...a doe came out a little bit before dark and I was so nervous. Seth had told me how you just get so nervous and you start breathing hard and you can't stay still or focused to shoot and I kept thinking surely it's not that bad...but he wasn't lying. I had the opportunity to shoot her 3 different times but I was shaking and couldn't steady myself, but when the time came I shot and she dropped right there next to the feeder where she was standing!!! I felt like such a pro, that shooting sports when I was younger paid off, even though I'm sure the next deer I shoot, I will probably gut shot it.
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun we spent the first half with my family in St. Lawrence and then we headed to Dallas to spend the last half with Seth's family. It was so much fun actually getting to spend time with them for more than just stopping by and grabbing dinner while we're in Dallas. So we got to spend 4 days with them!!! It was so fun to get to know them better and see Seth's nieces and nephews and even his great nephew....yup people Seth is a Great Uncle!!! We also went to the Baylor vs. Texas Tech game at the new Cowboys Stadium...and let me just tell you that TV doesn't do that stadium justice...it is massive!!! We had great seats thanks to my cousins Kendrick & Timothy for going and getting us cheap student tickets!!!
Then comes Christmas!! We spent Christmas day in Lubbock with Seth's family, which was fun and ate lots of food!! SueAnn, Seth, & I did Christmas at our apartment before going to his Mema's. Seth got a shotgun from his Momma, which is way awesome, and then I got him a pair of boots...Seth is going country!!! I keep joking that next year is a cowboy hat and a belt buckle but he doesn't think that's funny. I got an Amazon Kindle from Seth!!!! Which if you aren't familiar with it, it is like an iPod for books...I love to read and have really enjoyed having the kindle!! We both got SueAnn individually some nice jewelry from James Avery.
We didn't do to much to bring in the New Year...it was really weird being in Lubbock. Since I have known Seth we have always gone to the Texas Tech bowl games and usually spend New Year wherever the game is, '08 was in Jacksonville, FL, and last year was in Dallas, so needless to say being in Lubbock was just a little bit weird for us. But all in all this year has been a good start so far...I'll try to put up some pictures of Seth and his deer, mine is a little to gory and some pictures of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

ok so i promise a better post will be coming soon...thing's have just been crazy with the holiday's and starting my new job!! (yes there will be more of that in the next post), and traveling. Needless to say that hasn't left a whole lot of time to blog much less blog with pictures of our fun adventures...and to say the least i have gotten a little lazy...i have to drive a lot and sometimes when i get home i just wanna relax...driving wears me out and for some reason my latest jobs have had me drive at least an hour each way...so i promise when i get caught up on some work and sort of get more in a groove there will be a post!!!

2 posts in 2 days isn't bad for me!! well i've been busy lately since the football season started it's football football and more football, the only game we haven't attended was the ut game and we had friends over to watch it with us. we went down to houston to see seth's cousin bryan and his wife one of my besties courtney!! it's too bad we lost by one point, i'm starting to think i'm bad luck on road games...
on the way back from the u of h game we made a detour to brenham, tx to see my cousin and her husband and their triplets!!! you can check out their blog at The Siemsglusz's they were so cute and growing so fast, when we visited them they were just shy of being 4 months old.

if you don't know seth and i are huge tech fans so we even have a bathroom that is completely all tech!!! hopefully one of these days when the apartment is completely clean and more put together i'll post pictures of each room.

last sunday was the st. lawrence fall festival. since seth had to work i asked if his mom wanted to go with me and she did!! so we headed to st. lawrence on sunday morning aroun 8 am!! this year they made another record year of sausage making 12,050 lbs.!!!! and it was delicious. i think sue ann, seth's mom, enjoyed herself and i've always thought it's a little more fun when you know 80% of the people...but i think she had fun. and of course i got to see my little nephews and they are so dang cute and growing up so fast.

since it's also been hunting season seth and i both took our hunter education course...drumroll...we both passed!!!! we've gotten to go hunting once so far and we'll get to go again on monday!!! after seth get's out of work on sunday we're heading down there, we might get a hunt in sunday evening but for sure monday. it's a good thing we celebrate columbus day!!!
hopefully the bad weather that st. lawrence had didn't disrupt the birds too much...they had winds up to 70 mph and around 65 telephone poles were knocked down, almost all the cotton is pretty much destroyed, some trees and barns were messed up pretty bad but nobody thankfully was hurt. this was one of the stories on the news Glasscock County Storm then james took some pictures and put them online and you can go here to check them out, warning they might make you really sad :(

way overdue family post

ok so this post is way overdue but the family came down for the rice game...it was texas tech's 2nd game and we won!!! since seth and i are season ticket holders we get to order tickets to games early so mom and dad decided they wanted to come to a game and well why not make it a family game and it was luke's first texas tech football game and mom and dad celebrated 32 years of blissful marriage :) surrounded by us, their kids, and of course the grandkids!!! so below are a few pictures from tailgating.

i have a friend that works for tech and he patrols the parking lot we get to tailgate in and well he's awesome and let my dad and adam along with one of seth's friends ride it. i got to ride it again, i had tried the week before but didn't last 8 seconds and rolled into my grill-guard and seth rode it too and was way better at it, and my second time was a little better. it's a little wobbly.

So last weekend my 2 nephews had a combined birthday party. Luke who just turned 3!!!! his birthday is 9/16 and Jackson will turn 5!!! on 10/19. they are growing up way to fast for me...i don't get to see them too often and i unfortunately missed out on their birthday party. Mom sent me a picture of them and I thought they were too cute!!!

they are into pirates...which is fun so that's what the cupcakes have on them. and they look a little sweaty cause they had it at a little gym place with trampolines so they had tons of fun..or so i hear!!! These are the 2 little loves of my life, i'm their aunt shesha!!!

more updates should be coming soon....hopefully i'll get a little more time!!! until then have a great weekend!!!

so we've officially been in the apartment for a month and it's been awesome!!! i haven't posted in awhile so i apologize for that...i've been working and looking for a new job, driving back and forth to sudan is killing me and spending that much on gas just isn't worth it, and cleaning and putting stuff up and working...it's been somewhat crazy!! this week especially, i have a meeting in lubbock on thursday all day, then i have to be in midland for a dr. appt. on friday at 2:30 (pray it goes well) then somewhere in there we're supposed to take a hunter safety course so we can get our hunting license...i think it might be the saturday till 5 and then a little bit on sunday and then it's TEXAS TECH FOOTBALL on Saturday!!!! but at least i have a little bit of sunday and all day monday to recover....so that will be relaxing.
so that's been my crazy month...hope all has been well for you!!!

one week!!! and an update

so we've lived in the new place for a week tomorrow!!! and it's been awesome!!! i love having a place of my own (well sharing with :) seth) it's still not decorated completely and kinda still have to unpack but but it's coming along and i'm sure soon we'll be completely settled...or at least i'm hoping so!!

and an update on my grampa...he's home and doing well. in pain but i would think i would be too if i had a kidney removed!! but he's doing good so thanks for all the prayers!!!

So this afternoon officially starts our moving weekend!! Seth gets off work at 7 and then we are heading to St. Lawrence to load up most of my stuff and we'll head back to Lubbock on saturday!!! I'm so excited if you can't tell...I've never lived in an apartment, and i know most of you are like it's not that cool but it is for me!! i'm ready to decorate my little heart out!!! haha
I'll update you on how the moving goes and possibly post some pictures of the new place a little bit later when it's all set up!!!! Have a great weekend!!!

So just an update on grampa!! he did great for his surgery, they aren't sure if it is cancer or not, they sent it off, but they didn't think any of it exited through the capillaries so hopefully we're good. They put him in ICU b/c he has sleep apnea and surgery can aggravate that so they wanted to be able to keep a better eye on him!! Other than that he's doing good i hear!!!

My Grampa is having surgery tomorrow (7/30/2009 @ 9am). He is having a kidney removed that has a large mass that I found out has a 90% chance of being cancerous and a 10% chance of not. They don't know how bad it is till they get in there but it's a pretty large mass and they are hoping that it didn't spread out through the capillaries. So please just say a little prayer that everything goes good and that if it is cancer it hasn't spread. I'm ok with the kidney being removed cause you can live with only one...but the cancer part scares the crap out of me...

it's been awhile

things i've been up to...
--working in sudan still (the drive gets old but it's a job)
--seth and i are getting an apartment!!! we move in on 8/1 and i'm so excited to have my own space
--my job was to decorate and get furniture for the living room, so i bought a big comfy sectional! and i also got a papasan chair (which seth despises...haha), still looking for a coffee table but i think i might have found it! seth got the extra bedroom for his game/tv room, he has a projector and we're putting it in there!!
--the bad thing about the apartment is its on the southeast side of town and i head northwest to work every day so it's complete opposite, but we couldn't let it pass us up, it was a great deal and very spacious so get ready to come visit!!!!
--my cousin had her triplets at the beginning of june, they have 2 different birthdays, Addison came on 6/7 at 11:59pm and Bryce came 6/8 at 12:00am and Collin came 6/8 at 12:01!! Addison and Bryce got to go home a little earlier than Collin, but they are all finally home a month after being born and are growing like weeds!! --My nephews are doing great!! they are growing up so fast and i'm sad i don't get to see them as often but i do get to talk to them every once in awhile when they feel like talking on the phone. In august, Luke (the youngest-he's almost 3!) will get to experience his first Tech Football Game!!! i'm so excited to get to be a part of that-Jackson (the oldest-he's almost 5!) has already gotten to go to a few Tech Football games!!
--Seth and I got season tickets to TEXAS TECH FOOTBALL again this year and we actually got to move down a section so we are super close to the field...i think we're in row 21 or something!! and since we're season ticket holders we got to preorder tickets to all the home and away games!! which is awesome because my entire family is coming to the rice game!! and my parents are also celebrating their wedding anniversary so it's a big party!!
--Speaking of the parents...they are currently on an 11 day Alaskan cruise!!! i'm jealous that they didn't take me with them but i did ask for a souvenir!!! I just talked to him a little bit ago and well they haven't thrown each other overboard yet (it's a little joke we have going) but they sounded like they are having tons of fun!!!
--i tried to learn to wakeboard on saturday and well i did not get up :( i tried and tried it just wasn't happening, i just couldn't hang on it kept slipping out of my fingers. so i resorted to the trusty old tube and well as much fun as i remember it being (when i used to go to the lake with lisa at least once every summer and we would tube together) it's not as fun by yourself. especially when you roll and your entire leg goes numb and you have no idea what happend!!! haha i guess sometimes you just get to old for things, which makes me so sad cause i loved tubing!!!
--a few sad things have happened in the last week. One of my highschool friends lost a brother last week. He had been fighting lymphoma (sp?) and a rare diseas called HLH for i think around a year. He was young and was a great man and a great man of faith. Pray for his family and his newlywed widow. I also found out yesterday that a good friend of mine, her father passed away. Her mother and her just got back from a trip to boston and her mom actually flew to be with her dad b/c he was having a surgery so she hadn't seen her husband in 2 weeks. That would be really hard so please pray for them, it came suddenly, and I didn't know him but I got to talk to her yesterday and she said he was a great man and had an amazing faith. So please keep both of these families in your prayers, I can't imagine losing a brother or losing my dad and my heart goes out to them.
--well this is what's been going on in my life and i know its long and thanks for reading i should probably update more often so it's not an entire page! but sometimes it just doesn't happen. maybe once we get good internet in the apartment i'll be able to keep up with this more. till next time!!

busy busy bee

i haven't kept up with this thing as often as i would like but to be honest my life is pretty boring...so i don't usuall have a lot to write about. I go to work during the week, do laundry on saturdays, and then golf on sunday's usually!! i've started working out with seth again...we're back on our kick of getting in shape...i always feel better when i am working out but it's always so much work, and well if it wasn't everyone would be skinny right... i hate cutting things out of my life just so i can go workout, but in the end it is worth it. monday i went for my dentist appointment and i no longer have completly perfect teeth...i now have 1 cavity :( which makes me extremely upset cause i love my teeth and take care of them, so i was releived when he told me there wasn't really anything i could have done that my tooth just went soft. then on friday evening i found a lump in my breast, a little bit bigger than the size of a frozen pea. i did a lot of online research about it and well it said mainly that it was probably just a fibroid benign lump, which is really good news so while i was in town for the dentist and after telling the parents my mom really wanted me to get it checked out and i agreed just for the peace of mind...and thankfully he reassured us that he was pretty sure it was what i thought, and that being on my period your boobs change a lot and can be lumpy (i know that might be TMI but i just want to share incase you come across this). i can't do a mammogram b/c at my age my boobs are still too dense and it wouldn't show up, he said i could do an ultrasound if i'm a worry wart, but i'm not and i trust his judgement. i go back for a yearly on sept. 4 and i'm just supposed to watch it until then. so for all my ladies you should check your breasties when you start your second week of pills, and for those of you not on pills he said 1 week after you stop bleeding is the best time to check...i only remind cause i never do them and i randomly did and felt my little lump...so good luck in checking your boobs...i'm just glad i'm fine for now!!!

well i haven't updated this thing in forever and i thought that maybe i should...i got a job finally, i just started my third week, and i'm really enjoying it. although it isn't what i really want to be doing i like the husband and wife i work for!! they are pretty great. I hate the commute...it's an hour each way (i work in sudan now) for those of you that didn't know cause i haven't kept my blog up...haha. i thought about moving to littlefield but there isn't a whole lot to rent unless anyone knows of anything...(please let me know if you do) but other than that just working in the insurance business (auto, boats, crop, homes) it's pretty neat stuff....hope everyone is doing great!!!

Wind Turbine Experience

S o a s most of you know (or maybe you don't) i am very interested in the wind turbines going up all over the world. when i graduated from tech i wanted to get into this a little more but got offered the landman position instead. so going with where the money was at the time i took that opportunity and well it's gotten me to this point of being laid off and a bum. I got the chance to take a 2 day class at the American Wind Power Center here in Lubbock. by far very interesting and learned a lot more about wind turbines and how they work, which is fascinating!! The things have a mind of their own. part of the class was that we got to climb a 50 meter wind turbine that is one of the only public accessible wind turbine in the states. since i'm starting to get back into shape i thought this would be a little bit more easy and since we worked out the night before i was feeling pretty good about making the climb....much to my thoughts i got put in my place real quick. it's a workout and well when you should use your legs more than your arms i did the opposite because i didn't wanna let go and fall (even though you are strapped in and on a line). but one of the most rewarding things i have done in my life, and an amazing feeling of just being on top of the world....and the funny thing is this wind turbine is only 50 meteres (the standard for this one is 60 meters but since it's in line with the airport they had to shorten it a little) but most wind turbines are twice that height at 100-120 meters...i couldn't imagine climbing another 50 meters...i had to take a breather at the half way point....anyway here are some pictures of me on top of the world!!!

so i never really knew how to mess with my blog...so today i started playing around and went to a site i noticed my cousin uses and well this is the new look for now!! it was a little frustrating and took me longer than prolly most people (dane) haha but i figured it out...or at least i think i did.

Postsecret and Frank Warren!!!!

So last night Frank Warren came to Texas Tech University to give his presentation and share more secrets....Seth and I went together and met up with a friend that got us the free tickets. It was a blast and as always eye opening, dramatic, beautiful, and moving. If you haven't checked out the site you should...it's a guilty pleasure of mine the link is Postsecret or it's in my Blog list below and on the left. Anyway I tend to find something out about myself each and every time I visit the site, but I have to say meeting him and thanking him for what he does....awesome feeling and just being a room full of people passionate about the same thing I am was really cool and even having people share their secrets in front of the crowd...very neat. It was a pretty eye opening experience for me, Frank shared a portion of his life with us and in a way I related to it and made me realize some things about me...it was one of the most profound moments in my life so far!!!

i really just want a job....

so i'm still on my search for a job...and let me tell you just how fun it is....it's not!!! I've applied and applied and applied and haven't gotten a whole lot of response back oh and one rejection letter!! which will always make your day. Right now i'm really just starting to look for a job in whatever i can just so there is some sort of cash flow coming in...which is still not going so well because most of the responses are sorry you're overqualified... I'm starting to get a little ansy...but i did finally get to meet with my old professor who sort of helped me out...he's more into the oil business than the alternative energy...but at least he tried!!! so i am going to explore his ideas and options and see where that takes me...in the mean time i'm completely stressed about paying taxes, i know it's going to be a ton and although i've saved i still would just like to have a job so i can continue to save and have an income...so please keep your fingers crossed that something comes up or at least the economy starts to go back to "normal"....

so week one of working out went great...just a few days off to go out to st. lawrence but that's sometimes a workout in itself...we did play golf 2 times so that was also one...but as for the gym we made it almost everyday!!! and guess what i lost 6 lbs. in my first week. which is great for me because i'm the kind of person that if i don't see results i tend to get bummed and then just stop my workout....but 6 lbs.!!!!!!! so exciting and having seth go with me makes things so much easier. just wanted to give you an update...it's amazing what eating better and working out will do!!!

so over the last few years i've put on some poundage....and well i'm at the heaviest i've ever been at and it's scary. so i've decided to do something about it and for lent instead of giving something up i'm going to better myself as a person and become healthier. there is no time like right now to do it and well...IT'S ON!!!!
i joined the gym that seth is a member of and since i'm not sure how long i'm really going to be here and they only do 1 yr. contract or 2 year contract, they worked with me and said if i let them know 30 days in advance they would cancel my contract...so it all works out. great people!!!
so i joined yesterday and seth and i went and worked out last night (we both sorta decided we need to be healthier and in better shape so we are supporting each other) which was sweet, fun, nerve racking, and lets not forget sexy!!! haha well it was sweet in a sense that we're doing this together getting healthy, fun cause if i don't make it fun i'll get bored and quit, which is not going to happen!!, nerve racking cause who wants to work out in front of their boyfriend? and look all gross and being a girl...weaker than him?!? but it all worked out and watching him pump his iron to get in shape not only for himself but me too...SEXY plus he was cute doing it!!! haha at least i think so anyway!!
so that was last night and when you join they give you a free 1 hr. session with a trainer so this morning i went and met Gilbert!! ex-marine and probably the fittest guy i have ever seen!!! wow was all i could think when i met him...but nonetheless the nicest guy you could meet. and i mean when someone is taking your measurements and doing the little fat caliper machine on you well it's good to be somewhat sympathetic and he was and was very very sure that he could help me get where i wanted to be!!! so after going over the fatness of my body and how many inches i need to lose (which is A LOT!!) we hit the floor for a workout routine (that would totally and is going to totally kick my ass...literally :) )
we started with a lower body workout...intense and well it's gonna tone and make my legs sexy and of course my big booty (words of gilbert himself) sexy!!! then we hit the upper body that will hopefully help in making my my arms tone and the boobies go down!!! and since we had a short amount of time we just did 1 set of 15 and boy did that do me in...crazy. but he taught me the way to use the machines to better my workout and it was exciting!!! i can't wait to see the improvements of my body...
so the real workout...5 minutes of cardio to warm up and then monday and wednesday it's lower body, the workout he made for me, then 15-30 min. of cardio, then on tuesday and thursdays it's 5 min cardio warm up, upper body workout made for me, then 15-30 min cardio, and on fridays it's 1 hour cardio, 30 min. on 2 different machines of my choice!!!
so not bad i don't think and i'm going to keep this up and i'm gonna get healthier, in shape, sexy, cute.....etc. and all of the above!!!
so here's to working out, working on my food and calorie intake, and drinking tons and tons of water!!!

so part two is gonna be better but worse....the good news i'm not skiing again the bad news is cause i'm in way too much pain...i don't know if it's cause i came off of the endorphins or that i didn't take a pain reliever before bed cause it would have been too close to the other one...but anyway woke up at 4 in horrible pain and didn't get much sleep after that...my entire left side hurts. my shoulder and arm cause i think that's where i braced myself so i would hurt my head my hip cause maybe i fell on in and then my knee and upper ankle cause the ski got caught and i think twisted before finally breaking loose. so no skiing for me...i think we're gonna hit the casino in taos before heading home....anyway just an update it'll get better and i'm sure i'll get over the hurt soon...and when you're with a bunch of guys they don't really have a whole lot of sympathy excpt the one that saw you in which later he told me it was a bad fall he just didn't wanna tell me that while i was on the mountain waiting for the snowmobile...good stuff

part 1 skiing

so today i tried skiing for the first time and all in all not bad. definitely like it better than snowboarding... well i would be lying if i didn't say there was a little difficulty in the day...on my last run lets just say i never made it down the hill on my own. i got to ride on the snowmobile machine cause i landed pretty hard...its just a little sprain, but man it hurt...all i remember is seeing the snow come up at me...and feeling my ski finally break loose before hearing a little boy say "dude are you ok?" and i tried everything to keep from crying so i just nodded my head no....haha not bad just a little sore right now. but good day and good valentines day...

lets hope tomorrow goes a little better if i do ski tomorrow....you might wanna check back for part two

the interview was ok except it was actually more for a staffing service...so they are sorta looking for me a job too, kinda cool but a little sad cause i thought i was interviewing for a real job, so a little letdown. haven't had much luck lately with the job call/reply backs. a few leads but nothing for sure yet. just kind of still applying and still waiting to hear back....

on a lighter note i'm in angel fire, nm with the honey and some friends and we're going skiing. I snowboarded for the first time last year and wasn't so hot at it so this time i'm gonna try out skiing and i guess we'll see how it goes. it should be fun...valentines weekend in the snow with my hottie!! so romantic minus the two friends...haha

i'll try to keep ya a little more updated on the job hunt...hopefully things will turn around soon

so tomorrow is officially my last day with Parks and (what i'm most happy about) my last day in pecos...although i will miss some of the people i've met i'm excited to move on!! I'm still on the hunt for a job in the wind industry and got some neat news today. A lady in the wind industry is going to forward my resume on to some of her developers. So i'm excited to hear back from any of them and well maybe it will be my dream job...i'll keep ya updated, please continue to keep your fingers crossed and me in your prayers please!!!

First off let me start off by saying I HATE IT!!! Yesterday I was let go from my job....this whole oil thing has just gone down hill which resulted in losing my job. So, so far this year has just about sucked it up. So I just wanted to ask that if anyone knows of any energy business hiring (which is most likely not) please let me know...i'll be out here in Pecos until the end of January and then I have no clue...i'll keep ya updated if i happen to find anything. I hate asking this but please keep me in your prayers.

so the things in my life have been pretty great...i actually got my Christmas shopping done early this year, which makes me so proud of myself, and then things with Seth and I have been a little rocky (for a medication reason, in which i'm switching back to what i was originally on), so things should start getting better and have been getting better!!!! i'm supposed to not worry so much about having a job or not...which is a great thing cause that's been stressing me out. and well i have a little surprise for anyone that reads this but it's going to have to wait till a little after christmas...and no i do not have a ring...for any of you thinking that's what it's about.

this whole recession thing is totally sucking it up. when you have my kind of job you need the market to be in pretty good shape at all times and well it hasn't been and according to the smart analysts we've got 2 more months of this...which means i could be out of a job by then...or not being as well off as i have been. we'll see keep your fingers crossed cause i don't really know what i wanna do yet, or i kinda do i just am not sure about getting to that point...i still need some more time. so anyway market fix yourself and go back up...i'm tired of being stressed and having anxiety attacks...it's taking a toll on me, mentally and physically. and even when you try not to worry about it everyone around you keeps asking you if you still have a job and what's going on and blah blah blah...so this is my aaarrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

so the outcome wasn't what anyone expected or at least any true red raider fan. and let me just tell you being there in that stadium was horrible. our guys didn't play as well as they have been, and it was a big game with a lot of pressure. i guess it just got to them and it just sucks...we aren't an overrated team...we deserved to be ranked number 2 and we still deserve to go to the big 12 championship game...what i think is sad more than anything else is that they played when the entire state of texas, (their home state) was rooting for ou to win. that's sad to me...but i guess that's the way a lot of ut fans are...they are more interested in benefiting themselves than anyone else...and the sad thing is they still have the same chance of going as we do...it all rides on the ou vs. osu game, and all we need is osu to beat ou and then if we beat baylor and texas beats a&m we'll still win because we beat ut!!! so they should have rooted for their home state to win....but oh well that's me being on my soap box. I still love my red raiders and it was heartbreaking to watch that game but it was intense...we'll be alright we just have to continue to hope for the best and still hope that this is our year to be great!!! and to go farther than we've ever gone!!!!

Tech Vs. OU

So Seth and I are traveling to Oklahoma to watch the OU game!!! I'm pretty excited!! Luckily for us we bought our tickets back when we bought our season tickets. ok so man am i bad at this game or what.....i seriously have nothing to do in the afternoons and really i live in a hotel so you would think that i have plenty of time to update this and put pictures up and really just be a good blogger but for some reason it never happens that way.

and fun stuff on the other hand...so seth and i went to the tech v. ut game and oh my gosh was it amazing...a once in a lifetime experience that i will never forget....so awesome and i still get goosebumps thinking about it. and so this week we take on OK State and man i hope we do awesome...it's been so much fun getting to go to the games, especially with seth, and we'll be going to the rest of the games this season. seth and i got tickets to go to the OU game in norman which i hope will be fun...i'm excited to have a weekend away from here and getting to be with seth. we fly out of lubbock at 5:30 on thursday afternoon...so that will be a long weekend of fun with just me and my honey!!!!

i'm hoping to post some pictures of the ut game pretty soon...but then again i always say that but i really have to get back on my blogging bandwagon...i guess i just find it hard sometimes cause i don't really have a life out here so it's hard to write about stuff that i don't do..hahaha. anyway hopefully there will be a posting soon with maybe just my favorite pictures from the last few games...since i haven't posted any of them. anyway i'm gonna try harder...i know ya'll are all very interested in my life out here in this podunk town!!! haha

so things lately just seem to fall apart or fall together and i don't know what to think or do but i'm perfectly happy and complacent with where i'm at in life. i mean we all have the things we would change or do differently or always wanting something more...and i do but i'm happy! i haven't been this happy in years...the last year and a half is when i started living my life. living for myself, doing what i wanted to do, following my dreams (even though i'm still a little confused :) on what they might be), and being with my friends and just living actually living the college life, since i didn't for so long that i don't see how i didn't get away sooner. but this is the life, i've got family, friends, and that special someone that all care about me and would do anything for me, and to me that's amazing and more than i could ever ask for, not that they weren't there before, they were i just didn't see it. but looking back the things that had to fall in place for me to get where i am today and the stuff that had to randomly happen so i have the friends i have today and the way i met my special someone was all just so perfectly laid together that it seems so unreal. but it's the hope and faith that we have that moves us to where we are and where we stand.
sorry i just started thinking about everything that's going on lately and where i'm at in my life, which usually takes me back to where i was and i'm a total different person. then i thought of how everything fell in to place and it just seemed so, i don't even know the word for it, amazing (maybe). not totally the word i want to use but it'll work for now. so, sorry for my heartfelt little moment. i just had a reality check and man i'm a lucky girl!!

well things went good today, they took 2 biopsies and much to my surprise it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be...i'm not sure if it was b/c i had taken 8 ibuprofen or if it was because the numbing stuff worked so well. but whatever i'm just happy it's over. and i'm not so much worried anymore he told me it was a mild case and he would be surprised if it came back as anything big. so i'm relieved!!!!! i'm still feeling a little uncomfortable but i think it might be because the ibuprofen is wearing off...but i'm just laying here trying to go to bed and just thought i would give an update.

it was a little bit of a rough afternoon my appointment was at 2:30 and i got called back to get my weight and blood pressure checked at about 3:15 and then waited back there for about 30 min and then got told that he was going to go and deliver a baby and that he would be back in about 30 min. so i went back and hung out with my mom that was so sweet and met me there to make sure that i would be ok. then i finally got to see the dr. at about 4:40 finally and they did everything and we were out of there by about 5:30. it was the longest wait for something i was so worried about...but it's over and i'll get the results in a few days but until then i'm doing fine and i'll update what the results are later.

wow...a little hectic lately

so i'm a little sad b/c i haven't been to lubbock in 3 weeks...but this weekend is the weekend!!!! i've been a little crazy lately with work and planning and other randomness. my best friends is getting married, and i'm her maid of honor so it was my duty to plan her bachelorette party so i was doing that for awhile and thank goodness it turned out great and it's what she wanted. and i think everyone had a great time...then there was the little nephews birthday!!! He's 2! I can't believe he's growing up so fast the little guy is getting so big. but it was a lot of fun and he got lots of cool presents and especially his cozy coupe!!! in the mean time i've had a little scary news. i'm going to have a small procedure done called a colposcopy, and i'm a little nervous about it. i go in next thursday and have been nervous and worried about it for a couple of days now...i know it could be nothing but there is a chance it is something...so please just say a little prayer...

Well being an alumni of Texas Tech University there is no doubt that I would root for them in every sport...and I am always excited about Football Season. I of course don't really know a whole lot about football but I do enjoy Tech games!!! Well Seth and I bought season tickets together this year so last week we experienced our first game and had a blast!! It was fun even if they say we didn't play our best I still had fun and I think this season is going to be great!!! I'm posting a few pictures of the game that I took and of Seth and I.

So...my life here in this town. It's nothing special but i'm starting to have a hard time adjusting. I don't know what my deal is lately but each time I go home or to Lubbock it gets harder and harder to come back. I love what i'm doing, don't get me wrong, it's just I miss the people I used to hang out with everyday, and having wonderful roomies. And I like the people I work with, just with everything that's gone in the last few weeks....I don't know who I can and can't trust anymore and that's totally wearing me down. I stay out of the gossip as much as I can because I don't want to be involved in any crap going on in our office, and I think by doing that I have to distance myself from everybody. I'm sure it will get better and I know it takes some adjustment I just thought that I was already through all this or maybe it was just a front I put up cause I didn't want everyone to think I couldn't handle it or that it was too tough for me. I don't know...all I know is I just want to be ok. :)

Weddings and stuff

So I am totally wedding-ed out....haha. Wedding after wedding after wedding will just about drive anyone crazy. Although I do have to admit it was fun to see everyone...before the summer is over I have one more wedding to go to and that is one of my old roomies, the lovely Shari!!! Her wedding is on 08-08-08...how cool is that!!! The only thing is, it is my big brothers birthday so I'm a little sad that I'll be missing that. But it will be nice to get out of west Texas for a weekend.

As for my sanity, I've been doing good. Trying to stay busy and out of the drama at work...which I've been pretty good at both lately.

There isn't a whole lot else other than lately I've just really felt unsociable, so I just wanted to apologize to anyone that I might have offended.

4th of July

Well sorry it's taken a bit...but I'm still here!!!
Didn't do a whole lot for the 4th, I went to Lubbock to see the friends and had a grand time!!! Seth and I went to the drive-in on Thursday night and watched Hancock and Get Smart....it was a lot of fun. We had a blow up mattress on the back of my truck and just relaxed, until it started raining. But it was still fun laying in the rain watching the movie. :) On Friday we went out to a field and shot off our fireworks with some friends it was fun and then Saturday we went to Buffalo Springs Lake and cooked and then watched their fireworks show. Thats about it for my fun-filled weekend!!!

Pecos Rodeo Week

This week the festivities for the rodeo start. Wednesday was parade day, and although Pecos is somewhat small it was a pretty big and good parade...I was impressed and I know you're all thinking it usually doesn't take much to impress me but it was pretty cool. Then that afternoon Seth and I took a little trip to Balmorhea to see the spring and swim. It's pretty amazing if you have never been you should try to check it out. It's a random oasis in the middle of a desert. We got back to Pecos late in the evening and just hung out and swam some more in the hotel pool. Thursday was a pretty laid back day as well. Work and play. Our clients came into town so we had a steak night at the Social Lodge, then all went to the Rodeo!! It was cool to see it was my first experience of the outdoor Pecos Rodeo, home of the 1st ever rodeo. They did a tough enough to wear pink night in support of cancer and all the proceeds went to the local cancer treatment place, which was pretty awesome I thought. We joined the rest of my co-workers at the outdoor dance for a little while then crashed. Friday I worked for the morning then left to head home to St. Lawrence.
The moral is if you haven't been to the Pecos Rodeo but always wanted to go, you should definitely try and make it out. It was a lot of fun and I know Pecos is the waiting room for hell but they have it late in the evening so it ends up being cooler and it's nice. A lot of fun I do recommend everyone going.
